Scholarships are available for international students at the University of Florida from 2023-2024. There are scholarships available for undergraduates, graduate students, and postgraduates. If you meet the criteria for in-state residency and are enrolled full-time at the University of Florida, you may be eligible for the Out-of-State Tuition Waiver. Up to four years of study are covered by the waiver at in-state tuition rates.
Students from outside of Florida who enroll full-time at the University of Florida and graduate from high school in the state are eligible for the Bright Futures Scholarship. Coverage of University of Florida Scholarships 2023
Scholarships are available for international students at the University of Florida to assist them in financing their education. Academic merit, financial need, country of origin, and more criteria are used to determine which scholarships are available. Scholarship applications must be submitted by the deadline in order to be considered.
Florida Scholarships Criteria
International students at the University of Florida are eligible to apply for a number of scholarships.
Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit, starting with the International Merit Scholarship. In addition to receiving $20,000 per year, this scholarship is renewable for up to four years.
Students who demonstrate a commitment to public service are eligible for the International Service Scholarship. Applicants will receive $10,000 a year for up to four years with this scholarship.
Students with leadership skills are eligible for the International Leadership Scholarship. Recipients will receive $5,000 each year for up to four years.
The following criteria must be met in order to qualify for any of these scholarships:
- A valid F-1 visa is required for international students
- Full-time enrollment in UF’s undergraduate or graduate programs
- 3.0 GPA is the minimum requirement
#1 Admissions Honors Scholarship
There are several scholarships available to international students at the University of Florida:
1. Admissions Honors Scholarship
International students enrolled in their first year at the University of Florida are eligible for the Admissions Honors Scholarship. A tuition waiver of up to four years for undergraduate study is provided by this scholarship based on academic merit. An applicant’s GPA must be at least 3.5 and SAT or ACT scores must be submitted. Scholarships are renewable for up to four years with a minimum GPA of 3.2.
#2 Lombardi Scholarship
Distinguished students who show exceptional leadership qualities are awarded the Lombardi Scholarship. A scholarship from the University of Florida covers tuition and fees for up to four years of undergraduate study, as well as a stipend for living expenses. A special leadership development program is also available for Lombardi Scholarship recipients. Students must have at least a 3.8 GPA, be engaged in extracurricular activities, and provide community service to be eligible for the Lombardi Scholarship.
#3 James W. Kynes Scholarship
Students admitted to the University of Florida with financial needs are eligible to apply for the James W. Kynes Scholarship. In addition to being renewable for four years, this scholarship is worth $5,000 per year.
#4 Graduate Fellowships
International educational exchange programs such as the Fulbright Program are sponsored by the U.S. government in order to strengthen mutual understanding between Americans and people from other countries. Over 140 countries around the world offer Fulbright opportunities for students, scholars, teachers, artists, professionals, and scientists.
International students interested in pursuing their education at UF can apply for scholarships offered by the University of Florida’s International Students Office (ISO). It is thanks to our alumni and friends that these scholarships are made possible.
International graduate students enrolled at UF are given financial support through the Graduate Fellowship Program (GFP). Among the benefits of the GFP are tuition, mandatory fees, health insurance, and living stipends.
The following are the requirements for applying for a GFP:
- Accepted or enrolled in UF’s degree program
- Achieve superior academic performance
- You must be proficient in English to be able to succeed in UF’s graduate programs
- Citizenship of a non-US country is required
#5 Research and Teaching Assistantships
International students at the University of Florida can apply for research and teaching assistantships. These assistantships offer you the chance to gain experience and earn a stipend while studying in your field. It is necessary to maintain good academic standing at the University of Florida to be eligible for this scholarship.

First, students must fill out the online application form at the University of Florida in order to be considered for scholarships. A list of scholarships that students may be eligible for will be available once the form has been submitted.
